In 1882 the Antonio Allones factory, which had been making Habanos for over 30 years, decided to launch a new brand of premium quality and price. With great confidence but little modesty it was names El Rey del Mundo - The King of the World. It proved a winner.
The success lives on to this day in a selected range of Habanos renowned for its light to medium flavour and consistency.
The commercial name of this Julieta cigar, Tainos, suggests a magical origin, and some of this is passed on to the cigar. Its enjoyable to smoke and classified as medium for its strength and aroma.
Named after the Tainos, the indigenous people of Cuba when Columbus discovered the Island in 1492.
If ever one brand has come to dominate a particular vitola, this is it. The classic Pirámide or ‘torpedo’ size. Easy burning with a controlled release of faithful Montecristo flavours; many devotees look no further than this.

Montecristo is the best known and probably most appreciated brand of Habanos throughout the world. It forms the benchmark for many Habanos smokers against which other brands are judged.
The name comes from the hero of Alexandre Dumas' famous novel 'The Count of Montecristo,' which was a firm favourite when read by the Lector to the Torcedores (cigar makers) at the factory where it was founded in 1935.
The original Montecristo range of sizes was composed of a narrow assortment numbered from 1 to 5. Today it consists of a wide variety of vitolas to cover every level of the cigar enthusiast's needs.
Montecristo's perfectly balanced blends are created exclusively with selected filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone, home of the finest tobaccos in the world.

The format of this cigar, as well as its name and packaging, including the popper stud used to secure the ribbon on the box, were all originally inspired by a 1929/1930 price list published by Melbourne Hart & Co, a former British Habanos importer. A collectors item.

This is a remaking of one of the original Limited Editions from 2000. Full of ‘tangy’ Montecristo flavour in what has become the World’s most popular Havana cigar size. In 2009 the Montecristo Robusto was revisited once again when the lighter styled Montecristo Open Master was introduced to the standard portfolio.

The second offering from Por Larranaga 'Regalias de Londres' translates into English as 'Gifts from London'. However, the world 'Regalias' has another particular meaning that related only to Cuban cigars. From the 1850s and 1860s Havana's cigar manufactures used it to describe cigars of the highest quality. This proved to be the case in this instance and the 'gifts' quickly disappeared.

Named after the landmark castle that guards the entrance to Havana harbour, this was the lead vitola when San Cristobal first appeared in 1999. Although no longer in production some stocks remain in the UK.
